What We Do

Farming Forward Association (West-Central Forage Association) is a non-profit agricultural organization based out of Sangudo, Alberta. Since 1978, WCFA has served the needs of forage and livestock producers in the region by demonstrating new agricultural technology and production practices through extension activities, applied research, and knowledge sharing. The results obtained from research plots and demonstrations, along with current issues of agricultural significance, are shared with producers through meetings, training seminars, field tours, our regular newsletter distribution. A volunteer Board of Directors helps to ensure that we are addressing the most prominent issues to local producers.

Our region encompasses 10 million acres (4 million hectares) and work is done in cooperation with six local counties (Yellowhead, Parkland, Leduc, Woodlands, Brazeau, and Lac Ste. Anne), Alberta Agriculture Food and Rural Development, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, the Stewardship Alliance for Conservation Agriculture (SACA), other federal and provincial organizations, and local industry.

Our office is located within the Lac Ste. Anne County Fire Services Building at 5024-50 Street Sangudo, AB 

Operational hours: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday; available by appointment only. Please call one of our team members before stopping in to ensure someone is available to assist you. We are a small team and staff are not always available in the office during regular hours.
